Unfortunately, OHIP does not cover counselling/psychotherapy provided by private practitioners at this time.
Insurance Most benefit plans cover services provided by Registered Social Workers. You can find information about this by calling your benefits provider or checking your benefits package's paramedical services section (think massage or physiotherapy).
There are a few ways that you may go about figuring that out. One way is the "you'll know when you know" method. It's important to feel like we connect if I am going to be your therapist.
Another option is to take a look at my site and see if I specialize in the problems that you are bringing to therapy. To find out more, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. The consultation is an important step in the process. Previous clients are always welcome for "tune-ups" as needed! It's important that we keep those cobwebs out!
This happens and that’s okay! Therapy is for YOU! We know from research that the therapeutic alliance between clinician and client is the biggest indicator of change. If I am not the best fit for you, you are welcome to connect with a clinician that suits you best.
